It began with a meeting I was late for — again — and a completely blank mind for what to say. Not "car trouble." Not "traffic." Something believable. Something that didn't sound like the seventh time this month.

So I did what any reasonable person does: typed frantically into a notes app, sent something half-convincing, and spent the rest of the day thinking there must be a better way.

There wasn't. Not yet.

Excuseify started as a weekend experiment in early 2025. The idea was simple: what if you could describe your situation in plain language, pick how you wanted to sound, and get a ready-to-use excuse in seconds? No generic templates. No cringe corporate speak. Something that actually sounds like you wrote it — just, you know, a better version of you.

Since then, over 2,000 excuses and thousands more emails and rewrites have been generated across the tools. Turns out, we all need a little help sometimes.

People use excuses for all kinds of reasons — skipping the gym without a lecture, buying time on a deadline, getting out of a social plan when they're genuinely burned out. None of that is malicious. It's human. It's how people protect their time, their energy, and their sanity in a world that expects you to be everywhere at once.

Excuseify doesn't judge why you need an excuse. It just makes sure the one you give is good.
